Oekaki Embroidery Privacy Policy
This policy sets out how information is handled in Oekaki Embroidery (the “App”), an iPad app provided by Prototype Labs (“we” or “us”). Our policy for all of our services is set out in our Privacy Policy (in Japanese), but for the App, the contents of this page take precedence.
1. Information We Collect
The App does not collect any information about its users.
- There is no account registration
- There are no screens for entering personal information such as your name or email address
- The App contains no usage analytics tools and no advertising SDKs
- We have no server for the App. The App never communicates with us
The start date of your free trial and the status of your purchases are recorded by the App Store and in iCloud for your Apple Account. They are stored within Apple's systems, and we never receive or see them.
2. Your Artworks and Photos
The artworks you make are stored only on your iPad. They are never transmitted externally.
To place a photo as a sketch, the App uses the standard iPad photo picker. Only the one photo you choose there is passed to the App, and the App never gains access to your whole photo library. The chosen photo is simply stored on your iPad as part of that artwork.
3. Use of the Local Network
When you use the feature that sends a design directly to an embroidery machine, the App asks for permission to access your local network so that it can find machines on the same network.
This communication stays entirely within your own network. Neither the search results nor the designs you send go out to the internet. If you don't grant permission, you can't send designs directly to a machine, but every other feature remains available.
4. Sharing Information With Third Parties
Since the App collects no information, there is no information to share with third parties.
5. Use by Children
The App can be used by people of any age. It collects no information about its users, and it has no way to interact with other users and no ads that lead to outside websites.
The App offers in-app purchases (the Standard License and the Pro Upgrade). The App Store (Apple) handles the entire purchase process and payment, and we never receive your payment information. Parents can manage purchases made by children with iPad features such as “Ask to Buy” in Screen Time.
6. Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we will announce it on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. If a change increases the information collected, we will update this page before we distribute the version of the App that includes the change.
7. Contact
For questions about this policy, please contact us through our contact form.
